Well obviously.
Its a big AAA game, but whom was it aimed for? Whom are the target audience?

The gameplay is extremely simplistic, repetitative and on purpose drawn out. The premise of the story is decent, but the execution of it is awful and the interactions is very low quality in my opinion, it feels soulless.

I don´t care about all the controversity and weird (woke/anti woke debate) sure Sweet Baby Inc changed the protagonist from a Ginger to a Afro American, but that is not the reason the game is not selling.. its because the gameplay is just extremely awful...

Its also a short game and while those can be awesome, its just not worth it when the quality is this low... The developers said, that the game is for everybody.. but well..

1438 peak players. That can't be good.
It had like 0 advertising.

Incorrect. They used over 50m on advertisement..... That is half of BG3´s entire budget.
You might not have seen it, because it most likely did not target you.

It's got 93% positive. Seems like the people who got it enjoy it. I doubt it's that bad.

Lots of games flop.

I watched a lets play of SoM. Seemed like a decent narrative story driven game.

It has a 93% for reviews, so the people who did play it, enjoyed it. Seems fine but it's not my kind of game.

I did like the animation style though, very stop motion esque. More games should do this.

That's how I feel about nu games. I have the setup but I still go back to bg3 and divinity 2 instead of wasting time on these goty material

It's double A, but triple A.

No its not.
The game cost over 100m in development (hence AAA) when we take both production and marketing into account.

South of Midnight had higher budgets than games such as.
BG3
KC:D2 (AA game)

The issue is that its only from just over 1000 people..... 1000 people...
Obviously those 1000 people like it, for all we know it could be Microsoft staff all of them...

Over half of the positive reviews did not even play the game 2 hours... think about that for a secound.

Eh maybe, but it doesn't look that bad. The price to too high though for how long it is.

Yeah yeah we get it OP. This is the 20th thread about this game. I know you think it's DEI and woek because of the black female protagonist and that rustles your jimmies because you hate black people. We get it. The game looks mediocre and I couldn't care less. If you stopped caring about it and advertising it no one else would care either.

Many such cases.

Games in the same budget have (if they are a decent game) from 300-800k reviews...
Games that failed in that budget have 50-150k reviews.....
It is abysmal low and again.. think about it.. over half of the positive reviews are oneliners with under 20 hours played.. that is insane
