Can't say for Off-Topic specifically, but I usually didn't see that much of a problem with the volunteer mods on other forums.

Overall though I've never had an issue with current staff. Only had one case where mod activity was sus, and that was when one was shadow deleting comments on a counting thread for calling the thread out as a spam generator (which it was).
