Struggle meals! What are your favorites?
My go to is broth and dough balls.
Ramen and whatever you can stomach.

How about we share our favorite struggle or depression meals?

things i can easily just be taking out of the cupboard and consuming. you know, fruits, vegetables, vodka.
Cup noodle with various embellishments, like a raw egg dropped in while the water is still hot (don't try to add it before microwaving) and some canned tuna and scallion.
Shells and cheese with hotdogs in it.
Spam is great when used right. ♥♥♥♥ the haters.
Also, Minnesota Hot Dish came around during the depression and the war.

When Rosie the riveter gets off shift at the plant and needs to use frozen or canned rationed staples to throw together a quick meal for the family, or to share with the community in the Lutheran church fellowship hall, there's nothing better.

I typically top mine with some grated smoked Jarlsberg cheese.

Used to love ramen, but honestly... I kinda grew out of it.
Like, the only real ramen I like is the only specific one, others just have bland taste or feel awful

So I'll probably just go with homemade iced tea: quick to make, has amazing taste, and gives me a privilege of being allowed to call others wankers

I don't eat grains, including rice. So it'd just be local pork, beans. Sweet potato, lot of vitamin A. Maybe sweet peas or something. I don't need to eat a lot.
A Costco bag of rice lasts a long time. Simmer with bullion or plain water and add some butter or tuna or cubed spam and maybe some sriracha. You could add lentils and frozen veggies, but don't try to cook them all in the same pot, unless you want them to be turned to mush.

Cannibalism is legal, as long as nobody sees you doing that (or, if your moral compass is broken!)

We have about 8 bird feeders we keep stocked with sunflower seeds. It does cost a little but it has ensured generations of birds and squirrels live near our home and continue to come back year after year. This is our emergency food source. My grandmother grew up eating squirrel brain soup and pigeon. If she can do it, so can we.

In reality, we would starve but its a fun thing to mention in such cases.

I live near a major set of lakes. We would likely do a lot of fishing.
Попара.

Ingredients: old bread, water, cheese, some butter and that's it.

You tear the bread to pieces in a pot, add water, mix, then apply cheese and a bit of butter, mix again and bam.
