Pencil>pen
Pens are great, revolutionary, but I prefer good ol’ graphite.

It feels smoother to right with, more crisp and I feel more in control of it and able to remove any mistakes easily, not to mention the feeling of sharpening one

Pens are not bad, you don’t need to sharpen the pen, your writing will be more consistent as you can’t tilt to get another style of writing, and it doesn’t require sharpening or go blunt while writing

But the sheer use of pencils, the skill you can achieve with one exceeds a pen, it feels more natural, puts it above pens in my opinion.

Eh I was always a pen guy. Pencils just remind me of school days doing math back when I wasn't interested in math.
Pencil color is grey and doesn't pop as much as pens so I prefer pens

Maybe you're using the wrong kind of pen. Fountain pens are WAY smoother to write with than a ballpoint. Properly made, they require no additional pressure than the weight of the pen, and you can pick and choose whichever color ink you want. I have teal ink in mine.

But for most things now I actually use a dip pen, and with that I use India ink which is essentially charcoal suspended in shellac. I'm thoroughly impressed with how smooth it actually is to write in such a manner. And one dip in the ink well with the tip I use for general writing purposes, will last for about half a page in a notebook.

For some tasks, like writing out a check/money order, envelope, and mailing it out, or filling out forms, I can do all of that in just one dip, easily.

So, just stop using cheap ballpoints and you'll be fine.
You may think the pencil is greater then the pen. But the pen is mightier then the sword.
Black ink pens go the hardest
pencils smell nicer
You can't have a pencil without a pen.

for drawing i prefer pencils, but anything else... pens.

pencils are just annoying to use because they always break, you have to sharpen them, etc
You can sharpen a pencil which can be useful for many things.

You cannot sharpen a pen without making a mess and getting into trouble.

You should use the right tool for job tbh.

Pencils are good for math, drawing, the kind of thing where you might need to correct mistakes often.

Pens are good for visibility/legibility and immutability.

I tend to use pens a lot more since I discovered quality rollerball pens. I always figured you had cheap ballpoint pens and those enthusiast types that are by some standard beyond my understanding legitimately better, with the in between just being overpriced nonsense, but when I actually used my first rollerball, I swore I'd never go back to the cheap bic pens or whatever. There's a world of difference in both the visibility and the first stroke after opening it, a box of, say, uni jetstream 101 (what I currently use) is still priced at like a buck or two per pen.
