Games are already being pushed over 100 dollars. Look how many people buy collectors editions, ultimate edition, founder's edition, limited edition, season pass. These frequently sell. Without some of these options you don't even get the full game. 60 dollars is the entry to play the beginning of the game. If you want the middle and end you have to buy the season passes. So add up all the dlcs and season passes and you are already close to $200 in the current market.
I don't mind spending $40 for a "base" fighting game and "upgrading" it with season passes, on sale, annually.
Street Fighter V with all the content was $70 for me over 3 or 4 years.
That's different than buying a vanilla/base game for $90.
For AAA Switch 2 games, yes. $80 for the digital version has been confirmed. It is basically Nintendo making that decision and asking all gamers (and those who support us), what are you going to do about it?
Nintendo games at least hardly lose any value over time, some even gain value, like "Super Mario Allstars 3D".
See it as investment.
