One Life. Why can’t Religious people accept the truth?
Why is it so hard for religious people to face the truth about life and death? When you die it’s not some grand transition or a ticket to an eternal afterlife, it’s just the end, the same as it was before you were born.
Think about it: before your existence, there was nothing, no consciousness, no feelings, no awareness. Death is the same deal, a return to that same void, not a gateway to paradise or punishment. You get one shot at life, this fleeting, messy, beautiful existence and that’s it. When it’s over, it’s over forever , no do-overs, no sequels, just a permanent fade to black.

I get it, the idea of an afterlife is comforting. It’s nice to think there’s something more, a cosmic reward or a reunion waiting. But isn’t it braver to accept reality as it is? To live fully in this one life, knowing it’s all we’ve got? Why cling to stories when the evidence points to a simpler, harsher truth. We’re temporary and that’s what makes it matter.

The simple truth is that nobody knows what happens when we die. Just like nobody knows if we came from somewhere before we were born.

It could be anything from consciousness itself being god and when you're born you split away, and when you die you return (an ocean becomes a drop, the drop becomes the ocean, and that his how god experiences life/existence) all the way to us dying and then waking up and taking off a VR helmet only to be graded on our SAT score. (You did pretty good on your 20's, but you really scored badly on your 30's and 40's, fortunately you turned it around in your 50's, 60's, and 70's.. you get a B+)

Do you think your own idea, belief or truth in religion or spirituality, is any more right or wrong than the other ?

Do you think your own spiritual philosophy is the only righteous way ?

Do you think you have the only spiritual answer out there ?

The issue I find with junior practising esoteric's, is that they often forget to include themselves. As with any religion or spirituality we tend to wrap our selves in egotistical "Philosophy" & then profess it to be the "only" truth. Here we are with one side telling the other, my version is truer than yours.

For the simplest of people there is no current scientific evidence to prove or disprove any of this, it remains in the realms of Philosophy not Science. If we think we have the only answer we become blind to any other unseen possibility. A prison of sorts to protect our own truths with ego emotion. Genuine truth or fact, doesn't need protecting, especially with subjective feelings.
I don't understand why you're applying this to me.

I have always respected you Acetyl as your wonderful Philosophy's have always intrigued me. However I proposed 3 simple questions, any chance of providing some insights to them?
