I pick DVD. As nice as streaming is and saves room on the shelf, there is comfort in knowing a dvd can't be taken away from you easily.
Same goes for music. Streaming is convenient and I prefer to stream if I'm at home, but if I'm driving I'd rather a CD since my cars bluetooth doesn't always work the best with my phone. I've got a shelf of CDs for the sole purpose of being driving music.
But other then that streaming platform
and collecting DVD used to be fun , something I found them in unexpected places , like yeah , I've seen grocery store selling movies on DVD.
they do have a shelves live which greatly vary depending on which manufacturer made the disc but most dvd should last at least 10 , 20 and probably even 30 years before they become unreadable if you take care of them.
I also liked watching the bonus that came with them when they where popular , I like making off that explain how the special effects where made and also cut scenes or alternate endings.
