i really don't know how you would bring the personality and self-awareness back though.
Its complicated though as very shortly after death, the rest of the bodies organs and systems will shut down and cease to function. So you would not only need to repair the affected body parts and systems, but also pretty much everything else too.
Then there is the question of whether that person would even be the same person. There would also be questions regarding the "soul". Would the soul return to a revived body? Or would it just be an empty, albeit living, husk?
Perhaps one way to actually test this idea out is to clone every organ and limb from the original body, perform a brain transplant (which would be practically impossible) and hope for the best.
Test the idea on a few rats and we may get an answer.
