How much does the Overlord manga cover?

I heard from AniNews that the anime tends to skip over a few things that help build other nations character for more Ainz and Nazarick. Recently I found a site that I can read manga but I heard that the light novel and manga are different, so what does the manga cover apart from Ainz and Nazarick?

Have only read the first two volumes of the manga and haven't read the light novel yet so I don't know much. Do say it is better to read the light novel as it has more details that probably won't be in the manga maybe. Not to mention it is the original source.

haven't read it for awhile so I can't really say, it does have a small extra story at the end of the volumes though.
