Full game walkthroughs?
The other day I was thinking about full game walkthroughs, I can understand why developers or publishers put Denuvo or similar in order to get as many sales as possible and so on but instead they have no problem with the amount of youtubers and streamers showing their games in full and make a profit with it.

Wouldn't this have a similar effect on their sales? Why buy the game at least at the stated price if you can watch it in full and find out the whole story?.

It's true that there are exceptions like mmo or online shooters for example but I don't know, it's a bit weird for me, what do you think?.

i like doing both, but some games i just prefer to watch if they are not really being my "genre". but there are some games i never would have bought without seeing a streamer or video of it played and thought "that looked fun".

and sometimes i bought and played a game, loved it, and then sought out streamers to watch them play it afterwards because i am liking to see their reactions to the same things i experienced.

well, walkthroughs exist for too many years at this point, well before Youtube was even a concept. simply put, youtubers and streamers just found a way to make cash out of them.

i don't really see how would that have an impact on the sales, it is one thing to see a game being fully played and another to do so yourself, you won't do exactly the same moves or the same choices as the person exhibiting the walkthrough imho.
I like playing games, not watching videos.

I use YouTube videos to determine if I want to purchase a game, and I'll typically skip through a video and just watch short segments. Watching a play-through is not the same as playing the game myself, it's a much different experience. And I usually don't have the patience to watch an entire play-through. I would much rather play a game myself as opposed to watching someone else play it. Playing the game myself keeps me engaged. I've discovered more games via YouTube than I have browsing Steam's store page. YouTube is a great marketing tool for indie game publishers and developers.

i like to see it as free advertising and it keeps people playing the game when they get stuck and not just refunding it and by doing that they may become invested in the story which if theres a 2nd game they may go and buy bc of of that
