Need understandings about the Japanese entertainment industry
I saw they do a lot of orchestral musical concerts for the anniversary of the franchise randomly. Do it have any benefits for business sides? It is too common in Japanese entertainment industry.
I just think it is weird to go the musical concert to relistening the old music over and over again. I understand actual musicians need to do that in order to get the consistent incomes but this is from the animated shows/games.

So should I treat it like a musical tour from normal musicians?
See I saw even some new game like ff7 rebirth has an orchestral musical concert for it after a few months released later. I am not sure why it happens so common when you can just setup a normal concert. Is this a new trend or something ?

I guess mostly for money.
Japanese market is always unique compare to the rest of the world.

Even stage play based on anime are popular.

I don't know, I guess it's just about expanding their audience.
Like one Japanese person once told me - Japan is alien country, don`t try to understand or change it and just go with the flow.

I understand that the ticket sales will be a quick cash stream, but I just found it is weird that people will go to these concerts just for some old music? They just go there for some plain musical performance and nothing else? Like expecting something big announced? I never been to any of these concerts in Japan so I can lack informations

It's nothing new. Capitalism evolved to include another form of rental and service charges, often targeting older working adults or dedicated fan base, as they are more likely to support the cause. Same concept like the Disney.

You get to see it performed live in a proper auditorium. You can go with your partner and it's a nice night out. I always like the lighting and atmosphere of those places.

Read this sentence again very slowly.
They take music for video games and animated shows/movies seriously too. Music by Kanno Yoko and Kajiura Yuki for example is rightfully highly praised. Both are accomplished professional musicians and composers who make music for the anime industry. The video game company Nihon FALCOM has its own 9-member band who performs the pieces for their games. And they sound great in any concert hall. Arc System Works are also renowned for the music from their games. Ishiwatari Daisuke is making very good heavy metal music. And then there's Touhou and its music. ZUN, the creator and sole maker of the Touhou franchise apparently makes the music for a new character/game first, then makes everything else.

Ok? I just want to understand the business side of that. As there are some franchises that I see also host a musical concert after it was released globally a year or a few months later. Some never did. It is inconsistent to fully understand.

What is wrong? I saw some hosted the concerts after they wanted to celebrate something but sometime it is just out of nowhere then never mentioned again for quite sometime

Since their music is of high quality, people like to hear it outside of the game too. Supply and demand. I know I'd go to a performance of any of those artists. And obviously many people enjoy those performers' music outside of games/anime as well.

I honestly do not understand the question. Why is this strange?
