There are currently 8.9 million empty homes in Japan, or 10.3% of the total.
Millions of abandoned houses that threaten to become ghost neighborhoods or garbage dumps, even in major cities, are one of the most visible consequences of Japan’s aging, a country that fears being overwhelmed by social spending on pensions and elderly care. There are currently 8.9 million empty homes, or 10.3% of the total. These include properties that have not been available for rent for years or whose owners have given up ownership, according to the latest statistics from Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, from 2023.

By 2033, 30.4% of the archipelago’s homes will be empty or abandoned, meaning that, on average, every household could have an uninhabited house next to it, according to a study by the Nomura Research Institute (NRI).

“To stop the increase in vacant houses, the decline in birth rates must be halted,” the expert continues

not enough people being born as you said, so despite houses still being built there are no families to move into them. it is unfortunate but japan has to fix their birth rate crisis before they fix this one, because one will fix the other.

china has many of these "ghost towns" as well, though it is not because of low birth rates. just rich people doing rich people things.
Has Trump asked them to take immigrants yet?

That's called planning ahead. You'll find some of these "ghost towns" that were talked about a few years ago are now fully populated.

6.9 million approx Ukrainian refugees ( according to the independent newspaper) from Ukraine due to Russian invasion.

They can occupy Japan and help boost it's economy :)

There is a reason that the houses are abandoned, there are no jobs in most of the locations, and the houses are in various states of disrepair. It isn't uncommon in any country, as all the jobs are in the cities, and the population follows since they need money to survive.

Atm Japan is going full all-in robotics & AI research. They rather have far more efficiency & productivity (machines don't sleep, don't need food, don't need water, don't need bathroom, don't have families, don't get sick, etc) thanks to machines, rather than having a lot of humans going around, it has been a core govt policy for a while. Your plan could've worked if the Japan economic bubble in the 90's didn't burst.

So basically abolish women's rights and education globally to achieve this is what you are suggesting, very disgusting material.
That won't happen because humans are obsolete & waste of resources in the calculus of AI. Machines will replace everything and everyone in whatever Earth might be called, once all carbon based lifeforms are completely gone...

Until AI can manipulate freely at 180°+ and are allowed to self-program, we all won't be alive then to see Super AI or greater.
Fair points! As per the body flexibility is already here**, as per how they move their hands is still far away from what humans can do. Self-program? Probably by next decade perhaps :lunar2020thinkingtiger:
