wouldn't you have to have been born in order to choose to be born?

if you weren't born, then you can't choose, because you don't exist.

but you don't know whether nonexistent people are competent or not, do you? you don't know what it's like to not exist. none of us know what it's like to not exist, even though we all experienced the state of nonexistence before we were born. isn't it strange how that period of nonexistence just gets erased from our memory like that?
