Ur most memorable gaming experience
I was feeling a bit nostalgic the other day thinking about my most memorable gaming experience, and it brought me back to 2008. I had just gotten my first part-time job after school, and it took me months to save enough to finally buy a PS3. I’d been a huge Metal Gear fan for years, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Metal Gear Solid 4.

Once I had everything set up—a used HD TV, a newly cleaned and organized room lol , and a brand-new copy of MGS4, I dove right in. The grey, gritty atmosphere felt perfect for the deep, complicated story that only Metal Gear can pull off. I loved the long, intense cutscenes, and I got totally wrapped up in the whole experience.

But what really made that time stand out was what I played next: Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. It was such a wild contrast to MGS4—lush, green jungles, lighthearted storytelling, and just pure fun. It felt like a breath of fresh air after the heavy, more serious vibe of Metal Gear. Playing those two games back-to-back was perfect, and I enjoyed both equally in different ways.

Back then, I was really into cinematic games, and those two hit the spot. Since then, I’ve learned to appreciate RPGs and other genres, but that period still stands out as one of the best times I’ve had in gaming.

If you’ve had a similar gaming experience, please share, It doesn’t have to be about the best games necessarily, just what been ur most memorable experience......

It wasn't technically gaming.
It was Christmas, unwrapping what I thought were clothes or something, and finding an NES, which I had no clue I was getting.

My mother was never really big on gaming so I never imagined in a million years I'd get one.

I still get chills when I think about it, in a good way.

Probably the first time I saw the case for Final Fantasy 7. Regular games came in a single case with just one disc. This was a double case with 3 whole discs. It felt different, special because of it.

I have a few fun ones

I was doing WoW raids, Cata was nearing its end, and I was pretty much raid ready, about to decide if I was going to quit or double down and join a raiding guild

Got teamed up in epic raids with a fairly new tank and healer pair of friends, learning all the new dungeons

Nice chaps so I took them under my wing, taught them the ins and outs of

Now, there's an Egyptian themed dungeon. With a crocodile boss, not a hard boss, but things went bad, I was last man standing, now Hunters are not tanks, I was pulling tricks left and right, I wasn't going to make it, but it was going to be agonisingly close

The final shot from my bow, just as I died, killed the boss, it was the most epic and badass I have ever felt in a game

Another one, the original X-com, final raid on Mars....again things have gone horrible wrong, and the only 2 'living' units are a stunned newb, taken as high psi resistance, but wasn't trained, who was being carried by the commander....we had a shot at the boss, 12% hit chance 1 shot.....the commander had wounds, and was dead end of turn, auto shot away, miss, miss. final shot....clipped it, and that's all it needed

Closest it could be - I like to think that newb eventually woke up, realised his entire team was dead.....and took the corpses home....

Other then that, there was the time I was playing half life....sneaking in vents, shotgun in hand....there was a noise behind me, I spun round....pointing an imaginary shotgun at the person entering my room....may have been a LITTLE engrossed

My last one was a recent one: I did the Room 1665 stage in Vampire Survivors with Christmas Pepino, the christmas tree. My friend played Je-Ne-Viv so that wasn't just me, but still.

Another one comes to mind: using noclip to see the maps from above. It was like getting a glimpse behind the scenes at how the rooms connected.
Without a doubt, the nintendo power pad games... I mean the immersion level has never been rivaled. Either that or Gyromite.

My most memorable experience isn't my first gaming experience, but one that has stuck me forever and it was playing Timesplitters 2 split screen multiplayer on one of those crappy combi VHS fishbowl TVs in my bedroom with my 3 top dawgs.

Beating the Mass Effect trilogy was very satisfying, I don't know why everyone had such a problem with the ending, it was fine and it was the journey that mattered. We saved the Galaxy!
