Is there someone here using a drawing tablet?

Thank you for reading, I need to invest in a drawing tablet while the specials are still great. But I have no idea what I am doing, I could really need some help talking to someone who has one.

I'm not versed in digital art so I can't help you, Personally My art is colored pencils and photo realism. However I suspect there are better tablets than others for what you are trying to do. What style are you planning to draw, what programs do you think you will use? I those will likely matter in what will work well for you.

Depends on what you want to use it for and if you want a screen or not. Wacom are among the most popular (Cintiq is fairly affordable, though still at about $1000 new, compared to their 4k counterparts), but many artists these days use an iPad and something like Paint Shop Pro (cheaper and less frustrating than Photoshop and the Adobe suite).

You should be able to get more details and better explanation of some of what the different tablets do on something like the DeviantArt forums.

do you do professional work, or just a hobby?
if latter iPad air can just handle it fine and has portability.
Most softwares support iPad so it shouldn't be a problem for someone who handles 2d work. iPad can also handle mac type of keyboard so you can use shortcuts no problem

(i hate apple ecosystem, but i have ipad and can't say ipad is bad for this workflow whatsoever. it is good but i wouldn't buy anything else from apple lol)

if you need it for 3d work or exclusively from your own pc and doesn't need a portability then i'd start with huion or something.
I have huion kamvas 22 and these work great as it is, and relatively cheap compared to wacom

though however, i'd suggest you go to some nearest shop that handles pc hardware and has a "preview" or some kind for drawing tablet and try it out before actually buying one

Thank you for reaching out, I would take any experience from any level you have. There is no one I can ask where I am from tin the area. I just want to do standard drawings on pages such as for kids.

I like the standard tablets because they come with a battery. But the drawing tablets you have to keep plugged in (I am not able to use apple). I am just not sure if I can get a tablet with a pen that is not professional such as a HUION brand for example.

So my question is, the special apps made for drawing tablets. Are they also obtainable on the normal tablets? (To anyone who might know)

I did see someone using an IPad (iPad Pro 12.9 Inch) which looks perfect. But, my computer is not Apple. Will this still be a problem? Just to communicate between the two for data and standard black and white line drawings

I could not agree more. The problem here is that I live in an extremely small town and the tablets here suck hard core xD

They buy the cheapest ones to sell at the highest price without any pens made for them. They aren't even switched on for a customer to try. I would definitely like to see if I can find a tablet with a battery that can be used like an iPad Pro 12.9 Inch that I saw on a video on YouTube.

My work environment involve Windows PCs, some NAS, iPad. when it comes to data it will likely not a problem. what software do you use/will you be using?
if you need to be able to modify it on windows pc after doing something with iPad, you'd likely want to pick something that has same software on either OS.
Clip studio paint and Photoshop is a good choice for this (assuming illustration)

if you don't give not much of a ♥♥♥♥ writing directly into PNG afterwards or don't modify it and just need to be able to transfer then Procreate on iPad is fine, it's cheap and one-time payment

Do you know if you were to draw the upper beak part of a bird for example. It is quite difficult to draw it neatly, freely by hand. I have seen on the HUION software programs. You can round the form of the upper beak more neatly, to make it more align. Would software like this still be open to use for standard tablets such as samsung or IPad?
