Seriously, even proprietary crap (yes, I am aware videogames are the final proprietary frontier) depend completely on libre software.

Also, support foundations that help maintain digital rights and liberties. For example, EFF[eff.org], La Quadrature du Net[laquadrature.net] and the GNU Projet[gnu.org].

Sure, but the kernel does not exist in a vacuum, and other projects and initiatives get a lot less attention.

Specially because of Microsoft's and other larger corporations deliberate decision to call the GNU (or GNU/Linux) operating system by the name of its kernel, and their decision to phrase Libre & Open Source Software only as "open source", in order to maintain a steril environment, without many other ideals that may come up when we talk about libre and public domain.

But by all means, support the kernel as well!
