I am curious as to who invented what, and I'm not the type of guy to randomly look up an invention, but I'll look up who invented it for the sake of we have all the information here.

It could be as obvious as a technological advancement, tool, medicine, equipment, or even a saying

I want to know who invented the saying "I'm dead serious"

I know that was in Napoleon Dynamite in 2004 but it was in popular slang before that, in the early 2000s. Like 2002 or 2003. Probably at the same time they were shooting the movie, but we didn't see that scene in advance. Unless I forgot seeing the trailer and it was in it? Idk. There were no influencers* back then. There were people that just did whatever. Why did it catch on?

I mean that is like asking who invented the chicken who crossed the road joke.

As for an item/appliance/tool, who invented the compass?
