While it is true that Anunnaki_1 got cancelled, Ridley Scott did his homework at least, when it comes to creating the Engineers. That's probably as close to what we'll ever get in terms of cinema interpretations.

That is what was implied in The Fourth Kind, which I have also seen.
I watched that movie on an acid trip once. It was one of the most insane trip experiences I've ever had.
