Valve To Appear At CES! -- New Hardware TBA?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhtOFLojL6Y

I'm hoping for news about a Valve console like Steam Machines 2 running SteamOS and/or Valve Deckard, but I think more likely it will be a third party mobile gaming device similar to the Steam Deck, probably also running SteamOS.

Just my speculation...

Whenever Valve releases its in-house hardware running SteamOS, whether that's a Steam Machines 2 console-like device running SteamOS, or the Valve Deckard (if it's a standalone VR device running SteamOS), I bet we'll get another big Valve game or two... maybe HL3, as launch titles to boost the hardware sales.

If Valve takes Linux mainstream with a Linux-based open source SteamOS console that helps us get rid of the Windows PC gaming monopoly, that would be really wonderful for the PC gaming community.

Could also be a Steam controller 2. There have been lots of interesting leaks about new controllers from Valve... both for a VR device and for traditional console-like gaming.

Not necessarily HL3, but maybe... Valve could use any of their existing franchises as launch titles for their new hardware, whenever that hardware is announced.. Might be Left 4 Dead 3 or Team Fortress 3 or something. Or something new... maybe that Deadlock game.

So basically another hardware that most wont care about (like Steam Deck)

Valve is sometimes really disconnected from their audience

Why they cant just make a good desktop pc with an affordable prices or just make good desktop GPUs at least?

I think this new hardware will be a console with AMD tech that's basically a PC.

Steam Deck IS really affordable, it IS essentially a cheap PC, and it's made more affordable by SteamOS, Linux, and Proton. The system running on Linux means Valve doesn't have to pay Windows for each unit sold, which means lower prices for consumers.
