Is retro gaming better than modern gaming?

Yeah, it is better IMO. There are only a few "modern" games that come out every year that are actually good and not woke.

In my mind it was. When I go back to experience it, it is not near the same. I have found most nostalgia is best left in the past, although some standards do still hold up as they were the genre defining games, ie Mario, CastleVania, etc.

Intergalactic has a retro vibe set in an alternate universe in the late 1980s, turning off comments is woke..

Therefore 2025 will be the start of woke retro

most of the games i enjoy are on the older side but im sure there are newer titles that are golden

I'd say retro, though 2010s were very good too. Maybe even that would be considered retro now. 90s and 2000s were the peak for me. 2020s have been pretty barren, not many good games. But that's okay because there are so many older games that are great.

Wouldn't say that it is better. There are good games in every time period. I love some oldies but I like some new ones too.

I don't know about that. In the past, there was a lot of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games that sucked ass.

Retro gaming overall is better.

There are good modern games, they are normally smaller indie or AA games.

Modern AAA is almost a complete disaster, with very few companies even worth bothering with anymore.

More games in the past were made by nerds for nerds. Now the gaming industry is a big business.

Exactly, its become like Hollywood in a bad way. A lot of soulless cash grabs. Sure there were bad games in the past, but the good games were amazing and they weren't rare like they are now. Also there's little experimentation now, they want to go for mass appeal rather than make something unique and niche.

If by retro gaming you mean games from 1980s and early 90s, then no. :P

PS1/PS2 era, then yes, definitely.
