Disney removes trans character from new Pixar series
https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-pop-culture/disney-removes-transgender-storyline-upcoming-pixar-streaming-series-rcna184664

Disney pulled a transgender storyline from “Win or Lose,” an eight-episode Pixar streaming series that debuts in February, the company said Tuesday.

“When it comes to animated content for a younger audience,” a Disney spokesperson said in a statement, “we recognize that many parents would prefer to discuss certain subjects with their children on their own terms and timeline.”

The character will remain in the show, but references to the character’s gender identity have been removed, the company said. The alteration involves “just a few lines of dialogue” near the end of the season.

The Blue Sky crowd is outraged, but seems like Disney is sick of the controversy and doesn't think appeasing the gender politics crowd is a good financial move. If they're taking actions like this, I expect to see other major entertainment studios follow suit.

how many series, movies, novels, and the such, have come out this year, that actively explore transness at any point?

no? their decision results in what could've been an interesting character arc being scrapped because "ohh the evil transgenders"

Over the last decade there has been about 20x the representation of trans characters than there are actual trans people relative to population size.

I've never even seen a trans person, as many people who live outside of California or one of a handful of major cities likely haven't either. They are in every other movie though...

I just can't be bothered to care. It's like making movies targeted at people with 9 fingers. Sure there are people out there with 9 fingers, but you don't need 60 movies a year about it.

Like go to Netflix and click "Romance" it's like 1/3 of the movies are about either gay or lesbian couples.. and on top of that they get their own category as well.

Where is the "Straight" category?
the straight category is... basically where the vast majority of stories fall
it just isn't explicitly named so because everyone expects straightness right outta the gate

You can't talk about transgenderism here, except in a positive way. Even making arguments against it will get you banned, because that will be regarded as "insulting" by the woke moderation.
have you seen this thread?

examples would be nice

I have those but I don't feel like searching for them. To give you an idea, I've been banned for saying "X is not natural" which was relevant to the topic, not directed at anyone, there wasn't any arguing going on, and I even elaborated on what exactly I meant by it.
>"the woke mob is banning me for criticizing transgenderism"
>look inside
>transphobic rhetoric
I know some fr left bros who said they agree with this decision. Disney has been going way off the deep in in pushing them, im shocked it took THIS long

Mother nature made you now. All this hate was going out of style n the 90s but THESE democrats brought it back, brought divisiveness back period. Guess what that brings?

See the "slaves built this country" and "I'm non-binary" songs from the kids cartoon they put out, I honestly have forgotten the name I dont watch it, no one I know watches it, I only know it exists through internet osmosis. It is however, a good example of Disney putting these concepts in basically every single movie and show they make based on a quota we all know they have. Every show has to discuss post-modern gender theory or promote some race related things. See Elmo responding to the goerge flloyd riots in support of them. No, im not joking, he also did one for pro-lockdowns.

But yeah, even the general liberal parents are hardcore against Disney on the subject of gender discussion and sexuality in kids shows. Why it took this long for them to realize these are some of the subjects you dont talk about in kids shows is beyond me. Yeah My Little pony had a communist gulag but it actually hid it in plain site fairly cleverly and didnt just talk about communism.
Disney is very performative while being very little help in the first place. So this doesn't really change much, they will flip flop to whatever side gives them more money

Agreed, Disney wont change for another half a genration to generation. And let's not pretend here, Disney is a symptom not a cause, and nothing will change so long as the core thing that got them started in this direction remains in place.
they removed them because they got arrested for being groomer employees or because they self isekai?

I still don't see why there's such an interest on this forum over gender politics.

Star Wars is about fighting fascism in a society and culture that becomes increasingly technological That means fighting against people who believe in racist dogma.

Get over it already.

There's such "an interest" because it's being inserted into every form of media when consumers aren't asking for it. We can't go more than a week without some new movie or AAA video game having some controversy around it.

I'm not sure why creative people feel like it's so important that they will risk the financial success of their product just to include this messaging, but that's where we are. Don't blame us for noticing, we're just reacting to what's being put in front of us. Ask why the creatives have such an obsession with portraying this group that's less than 1% of the population.

These people are always disingenuous. You have to read between the lines with them, and basically ignore what they actually say. It was reported in mainstream media, you posted the link, that's already enough to show that what that guy's saying makes no sense at all. It's one of their default tactics to say "Why do you care so much", when it is them who care the most.

so... the mere presence of these two songs in a single show that you don't even watch constitutes "pushing"?

anyway, no
parents aren't against "gender discussion" and "sexuality" in kids' shows; if they were, they would be equally angry about the presence of cishet characters
they're specifically against the presence of queer characters

Oh they're just two examples that show is a truckload. I think I've seen what 6 of them now, including some anti-white propaganda book being explicitly propagandized. Look I dont care remember the name. Sorry I honestly dont have the string of numbers on hand but their filmography has been riddled with post-modernist material or clearly controlled by it.

And with all due respect, don't try to gaslight me. I know what the people around me have said both on and offline, even left wings parents are sick of Disney right now, they do not want children to hear discussion of special types of relationships and gender BS
