I wouldn't say it was great, I'd say at best it was alright, as it didn't go anywhere meaningful with the religion and the racism and stuff. Also, I didn't particularly like Elizabeth. I didn't hate her or anything, either. I was just sort of... apathetic towards her the whole game. Maybe because you never have to actually care about where she is or what she's doing during the gameplay.
Many people go CRAZY over these games, saying how amazing it is, and while I do agree they are good, they aren't the best thing ever. I'm talking about the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th one, which like I said earlier, are good, but I think they are WAYY to overrated.
4. Super Mario 64
I can hear EVERYBODY going crazy and wanting to kill me for saying this, but I feel like Super Mario 64 is WAYYYYY too overrated. The graphics, even for 1996, weren't the best and there was much better graphics, as well as colors, on other games. Now, I'm only putting this at number 4 because I haven't played it yet, but I have played the remake. If you want to play Super Mario 64, just get the DS remake.
3. Super Metroid
I have played it for a little bit. The game is fun, but SOOOOO many people say that it's one of Nintendo's best game EVER. I don't see how it gets 10/10 when in reality it's just an average game. THE GAMES SPAZER BEAM FIRES LIKE A FREAKING SHOTGUN! However, I do like it, but there are SOOO many better space games out there
2. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Ohhh Legend of Zelda, how much I LOVE you. OoT is a great game, but I feel like it's way too overrated. The game is great, but I feel like when playing that it's an incomplete game. There are many glitches and bugs I have came across that it feels like I'm playing an Atari Jaguar game. If this game had sold for $9.99, then maybe I could accept the glitches, but making it $40 more just isn't right. I do like the game though, but if Nintendo were to fix more of the glitches, I'd be a lot happier.
1. Mother
Easily one of the most overrated games of all time. Each installment just keeps getting worse and worse, but everybody still buys it. Nobody cares about the story, but instead the Colin's Bear Animation and Gigyas creepypastas. If it sold for maybe $29.99, then I would understand, but not for $199.99.
(please don't ban me, I do make good points even if they're not necessarily mine to begin with)
(Also how can CoD be overrated if everyone says it is? IMO, its UNDERRATED, if not having a constant Biased review.)
Bioshock. I have Bioshock 1 and 2 in my game collection. My sister played a bioshock game, got scared and never finished it. I think she quit on the first big daddy she had to fight.
Elder Scrolls. I remember watching G4+TechTV with Adam Sessler reviewing Morrowind and how he want nuts over it. May have seen him review Oblivion, but I've consumed so much passive viewing media my brain is just pure fried at this point in time. My brain looks like refried beans at this point.
Hitman. I have most of the hitman games in my collection, never played them. I watched the hitman movie and expected an awesome game to make the movie not live up to them. Well the games seem like a standard get kill x mission, and just various possible ways to kill x.
Fallout. Bought this game series because my sis was bored and wanted to get drowned in video game story. Besides Liam Neeson lending his voice to one very small role in this game, it didn't have much going for it once you leave the Vault. Combat system, UI, visuals everything just seems on repeat and repetitive. Not interested at all, and neither was my sis.
Assassin's Creed. Glorified Prince of Persia games, I never liked Prince of Persia, never thought I'd enjoy an Assassin's Creed game and I have yet to find out. But the whole time travel back and assassin order theme and story seems intriguing but not enough to justify the gameplay. Only good thing to come from Assassin's Creed is this video.

Honorable Mentions.
Ghost Recon. I bought GRAW2 on direct2drive to play with a clan member who urged some of us to play multiplayer with him. I never got to play it with him.
Rainbow Six. I played a PC demo for one of the original Rainbow Six games before the fancy Vegas subseries.
No other game series are coming to my head at this time, but I've scrolled through comments and found that people mentioned Dark Souls.
Dark Souls. Game whose selling point is difficulty. That's not enough to sell me on a game. Plus I have a sci-fi shooter bias and going back in time to medieval era hack and slash isn't a plus. sitenote: I don't see myself playing rogue-likes that I can't cheat with game saves. FTL was my one and only rogue-like because I could backup saves and edit saves with a third party application. I just wanted to experience all the content in as short of time as possible, at least once. I didn't care so much about the random nature of failure.
5) World of Warcraft
4) Team Fortress 2
3) My Little Pony
2) Shrek
