Is Trump really trying to annex Greenland and Canada?

This feels like a running meme the internet came up with. It still doesn't feel real. It feels like a bad alternate reality TV show, like The Man in the High Castle.

So if it does happen, can we invade America? I mean, America did invade Iraq in order to liberate Kuwait. So... double standards? Can we invade them to liberate Greenland and Canada?

I doubt he will sent 2.5 million men to Greenland not when he wants to occupy Gaza ... Even if he invades can he hold it? Not to mention the international backlash will be enormous.

Greenland is a state in Denmark.... Denmark is part of EU

The issue for the US is that they are powerless and can´t really do much to gain what they need (economic security) as most of the minerals are other places in the world... they are desperate.

In 50 years from now, there will be no US like today.. it will be known as the fallen giant, most likely states will go independent and blob together in new federations.. Unity is at its lowest, civic struggles and a economy in ruin...

Denmark has about 1/4 the population of just NYC alone. Denmark doesn't have the ability to defend anything against any other military except maybe Norway.

Denmark is a EU member... EU is a federation of countries..

Vermont have 650k population, does that mean Denmark could take over Vermont? no.... because Vermont is a country in a federation... the US...

It is not hard to understand that if Denmark is attacked (or Greenland) than the entire federation (union here) will come to aid.. an attack on one member, is an attack on all.
Same goes for Vermont.. If Canada declare war on Vermont... the entirety of the US federation will go to war.. not just Vermont......
