incredible practical special effects, animatronics and claymation that are are still being extremely impressive and advanced to this day decades later. great performances by kurt russel, wilfred brimley, ketih david and the rest of the cast.
"perfect horror", relying on tension and "the unknown" to build suspense and then shock the audience with "the thing" when it reveals itself in various forms.
incredible original score by the master himself, ennio morricone that perfectly captures feelings of isolation and paranoia
it is still to this day still being a film that is widely studied by film students.
I can't pick 1 cause the genres are so different.
the original is really good yes. I also had the pc game which was not so bad, considering all games made from movies were pretty bad back then.
That's mine right there!

oh damn ill probably going to buy that on sale for the nostalgia
it made me think of "freedom fighters" but mixed with "eternal darkness sanitys requiem". indeed i agree, it was truly an extremely unique survival horror game that was not nearly appreciated enough in its time for the new things it was trying.
from a quick google search, i cannot even find if the studio even made more games? so feel free to let me know. but it seems this may have been their only game they ever made. which is an incredible shame, because it is being so obvious that there were talented people at that studio.
studio: "computer artworks"
i find it kind of fascinating that francis ford coppola directed films like "the godfather" and "apocalypse now" but if you are looking at his filmography overall it is filled with like 90% crap.
still, apocalypse now is a good film.
