Something else. OW 2 is not the only hero shooter. They're a dime a dozen now. If it was a starved genre, then I'd understand. But it's a saturated genre. Most people don't want to search for games. They just grab the lowest hanging fruit.
That's called staying in your comfort zone. I enjoyed Front Mission 1. Gave Front Mission 2 a spin. Hated it. Picked up Baldr Sky, which is half visual novel, half top-down 3D action mech game. Had a blast. I don't need to play one genre alone, no one does. Why eat only bread and butter, when there's a world of flavours out there? Same goes for video games. Trying different things CAN lead to discovering a brand new kind of pleasure.
I was talking purely about the hero shooter market. Didn't find anything as good as OW 1.
Point taken. Well, there's always worse. I loved playing Bungie's Oni. There is nothing like it on the market. And right now, the game is in IP ownership hell. Overwatch 2 may be worse than 1, but it's still an option. There is no Oni 2, nor anything like Oni.
I kind of liked Nosgoth. Not great not terrible. About average. Very dead unfortunately.
