you'd wind up abstracting it back to the resources to maintain society, just like regular cryptocurrency is doomed to do.

like a human brain could instantaneously solve millions of hashes if the firmware was optimzed for brains. after a certain point, the hashes are happening at regular human speed (the speed society operates at already) and the limiting factor is the same as before brain harvesting: keeping everyone alive and fed and able to mine.

so you could maybe use it as a social control to get everyone into pods where they don't move, but that's kind of the sort of mass societal collapse which triggers a return. so.

you wind up back on the sticks and cave grubs economy either way.
