I've been on 4Chan. Not often, mind you. I was never a regular. I visited some boards, but the solidarity there was crazy. People would often ask about me after years and remember things I've done. They value things you do.
Sure, their culture may be different, but there are great people there. Like always, there are exceptions.
Reddit on the other hand is an ocean - and you're a drop in it. In my experience at least.
