Or because, just as he’s always and clearly stated, the threat of tariffs being applied to Mexico and Canada was always in service of them agreeing to help secure the border and they both caved to Trump’s requests.
And China is suddenly agreeing to talk about the trade interests of the USA.
Yep, such a failure for the first two weeks of his presidency…
Well, surely the 1.3 billion dollar package to reinforce the border for Canada was a concession Trump got from Canada. This just in... that funding was passed back in December by Canada before Trump was even in office. Surely, Trump isn't so stupid as to think Biden's hand-me-downs that were done months ago are actual concessions? Well, no. He isn't that stupid. But he'll pretend it's an actual concession because the markets were were already crashing before the tariffs were even enacted. This is nothing more than Trump playing pretend to fool his more gullible fans and protect his ego.
Ah, the good old playbook of “if it’s good it happened because of my president, if it’s bad your president ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up”.
Could you not at least find some new materials?
Again, the border being “reinforced” (that is the word the president of Mexico herself used) doesn’t just imply, it outright states that additional resources are being put to the job, on top of what was already there.
I'm talking about the 1.3 billion dollar Canadian thing Trump was bragging about being a concession he got out of Canada even though it happened back in December. Bragging about getting not just one concession out of Canada that happened a while ago, but two if you count the troop deployment concession.
Maybe Trump thinks we invented time machines? As that's the only way to explain this credit stealing behaviour of his if you think he's not faking it.
Trump went against the so called globalist overlords to appease far right populist brainwashed folks. The threats backfired, wall street crashed, and Trump had a reality check on power. China didn't even have to get involved for Trump to be humbled.
That's all there is to it.
Invent a problem
Do something dumb
Undo it
Claim the problem has been solved even though nothing changed
Bonus effect of distracting the news from other terrible things he's doing
