phones where obviously more difficult for children in the late 80's early 90's I am surprised we all knew how to work them, all those rotary dial phones where so time consuming, if you messed up one number you had to start all over.

I can't believe you paid more for the phone calls then the console and game combined.

i remember getting a nintendo for around 100 dollars and the game was 50, in NYC with the markup price.

Whats Crazy is i just looked and i still have TNMT 2 the arcade game on my game self,

I never really played NES but remember Super Nintendo had a lot of hard games like Battle Toads and Super Ghouls n' Ghosts.

It took me years to finish R-Type on Sega Master System.

if you ever feel like a laugh, watch the battletoads episode of AVGN so you can "encapsulate" so to speak, your frustrations of this game

i was so confused by that. the first part is so fun and then they put that level there and i never got far past it. i never went back and played it with savestates, either. anyway, i always dug the music in a lot of these older games and nowadays it's a whole subgenre in and of itself.

Yes, played through it several times, along with ghosts n goblins and battletoads, ice climber mario etc. fun times. The high score counter in battletoads was a bit of a weird thing since it often got maxed out unintentionally as reaching the final level

Hardest game I ever beat was Diddy Kong Racing. Final race grabbing coins was crazy, had to do a perfect run really.

Hardest game I couldn't beat and had to have a friend unlock it was Goldeneye also on N64
The last map at the antenna was insane difficult, needed perfect aim and fast reaction time.
It unlocked the moonbase map for multiplayer hosting.
