Looks like PC gaming may be coming to an end for me.
I really love PC gaming.. And i don't want to stop playing, but the future of PC gaming looks bleak.. I have a 3080, and i am sure it will last a bit longer, but with 4080/4080 super being discontinued, and 5080 and 5090 being scalped to hell, there is now way i can upgrade anytime soon without paying way more than i should.. If this is the case, then the consoles will be my only choice *throws up a bit* I really don't want to, like at all.. But what choice do i have if this is what we get? Its like PC gaming hardware is truly coming to an end for the average PC gamer.

the whole concept of a "personal computer" has become a thing of the past really... MS owns your soul.
Diogenes would be happy gaming on a Raspberry Pi in his barrel.

It's not like resource-intensive AAA junk is worth playing anymore.

No console looks like a 5090, and once you fully pay into a console ecosystem you've paid about the same regardless.

3080 should be plenty for another 5 years unless you only play Unreal Engine 5 trash built on a broken engine, or you're one of those people who think 4K and ray tracing belongs in gaming.

I'm already saving up to buy a new gaming computer, regardless.
I have to if I'm to keep doing this...
It's going to be a beautiful thing to see. I'll do wonders in all kinds of different worlds that no one ever thought possible.

Nvidia is obsolete. AMD surpassed them in every way this last gen or two.
Get a 7900xt or xtx and eat well for a few years.
Maybe Nvidia will come to their senses someday

4060 8gb stagnant for 6+ months.

seems like they want people to buy a low vram generation that's already outdated so they can gouge them in another year or two on a rebuy.

OP : High-end graphics, or no game for me.

K. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Console gaming is not that bad lol i used too think like that though but you will appreciate it after hours of work chilling on the couch but FPS games are almost unplayable so if you're mainly into that than rip
