Two female swell sharks named Ethel and Lucy kept in a tank together without a male around since 2014 (10 years+), got pregnant and had a baby pup shark named Yoko!

They don't know what female shark had the baby. They will wait till he's older to get a blood test.

Either it was a transgender shark?

Reproduced asexually by creating a genetic copy of herself (parthenogenesis)?

Or had a delayed stored egg for fertilization and decided now is a good time to have the baby?

What other creatures could possibly do this?

Could humans do this! Are we males no longer needed for females? So long a female is in isolation of males for at least 10 years?

Nature finds a way!

I'd hate to be the sad sap that finds out his drunken night out ended up making him the proud dad of a shark, that and calling his girlfriend a shark is always a great way to charm the ladies.

Good thing literal sharks aren't known for their intellect otherwise I'm sure they'd be offended and wouldn't sleep with a human.

This reminded me of my childhood SharkBoy and LavaGirl...

It looks so cringe now, but I enjoyed it as a kid. I'll give the actor (Taylor Lautner) is insanely skilled and actually fit. The special effects seems so lame now. The story line, utterly stupid.
