And how is that such an idiotic move to conduct an audit of the budget - which is completely out of control that not even a couple of months ago threatened a government shutdown (and more importantly, part of the promises upon which he was elected)?
look at that, they folded it, put in my hand, and it's already used.
“This is NOT a rescission of the federal funding freeze. It is simply a rescission of the OMB memo,” Leavitt posted. “Why? To end any confusion created by the court’s injunction. The President’s EO’s on federal funding remain in full force and effect, and will be rigorously implemented.”
After how Trump didn't realize he released violent felons with his Jan. 6th pardon, it's safe to assume he didn't know what his EO on the freeze actually affected.
Sniffs* smells like... bad faith. Grug, brg big rock!

I mean, it looks perfectly clear to me; it's a two page long documents, which clearly:
- directs all federal agencies to "to identify and review all Federal financial
assistance¹ programs and supporting activities consistent with the President's policies and
requirements.²" - complete with a #2 footnote explicitly stating that "Nothing in this memo should be construed to impact Medicare orSocial Security benefits";
- instructs each agency to "complete a comprehensive analysis of all
oftheir Federal financial assistance programs to identify programs, projects, and activities that
may be implicated by any of the President's executive orders"; and
- already explicitly states that any temporary pause to the activities related to obligation or disbursment of all Federal financial assistance shall be limited to "the extent
permissible under applicable law".
Sounds like, as usual, the democrats and the "concerned parties" created a storm in a glass of water.
