after looking at this thread again, perhaps i will say puzzle games in an adjacent way. my favourite genre of games, horror, are often known for their puzzles as being a major part of their gameplay. so because so many horror games are containing heavy puzzle elements, i guess actually i would say i prefer puzzle games over fps, in a way.
