I don't remember much about the movies beyond the T. Rex scene with the lawyer, but Mr. Arnold was my favorite character in the book.

This is what rather limits the Jurassic Park series for me. Somehow these dinosaurs, which are large animals, are portrayed as having Godzilla-like immunity from modern firearms. Let alone grenades, mines or the ever popular RPG.

Well I'll answer, at the time there was no wokist ideology, certainly some had ideals that they pushed in their works but it always remained intrinsically linked to the work without ever distorting it like Romero's of the dead with the black man who plays the hero seducing the woman each time... It's rather subtle and not thrown in the face... Where modern films often make unnatural additions to the work and reduce its impact, almost as if adding such people was more important than the film, there is no reflection, it is pure additions of people of color, sex because they are and not because of their talent to play a role..
