When to transplant apple seedlings
The apple trees are growing in 4 inch pots now. Only the first 2 real leaves are grown out so far.

Have 8 inch pots can transplant into and since they are trees i think theyll need more room

Can you transplant too often. Give them more time to grow up or no

It doesn't really matter if you've moving them to larger pots. The root structure for apple saplings is quite small, so they likely don't need that much space yet. However, it won't hurt. I've grown apple trees over many years and made many mistakes, but extra space was never one of them.

So do you think a 4 inch tall 4 inch wide pot would b ok for many months of growth
Oh and do you fertilize or use natural forest topsoil like im using
That should be fine until the saplings are about closer to 6-8 inches tall. After that, transplant them.

The best time to transplant apple seedlings is in early spring after the last frost, usually in March or April. However, the ideal time depends on your climate zone.
Its next to canada with very hot summer and very cold winter like 15 degrees or sometimes even 0 f
Should the apple be grown in pot 1 year to strengrhen it first then transplant

I wouldn't really transplant unless it's going into the ground. messing with transplants before the graft is a good way to catch something weird that makes it reject the graft.

pretty sure grafting needs to be done within 6 months.

all apple seeds result in crab apples. all living apple varieties are grafts or grafts of grafts.

the apple crisp apple traces back to a single 1000 year old tree in Norway, for instance. its parentage is unknown.
