Dan carlin from hardcore history puts out amazing content but he probably requires people to 'simp' for him to keep it going. I dont think hes selling out MSG to talk about genghis khan.
i would agree with this. i do not really like these internet slang terms like "simp", but to me an example would being someone who would financially ruin themselves for a celebrity/internet personality who does not know them personally. this is unhealthy behaviour
but yes, supporting a streamer/content creator/personality etc that you are enjoying, as long as you are within financial means to do so and have no other motive than "hey, i like this person and i want to give them some money so they can keep making content i like." then i think it is perfectly okay.
