AI VTUBERS are not the future (but Neuro is still amazing)
I have seen some posts online wondering if AI will take over youtuber and twitch streamers jobs, but i can say with confidence that Neuro has reached heights that other AI streamers will likely never catch up to.

1. Neuro was the first AI VTUBER to be created, and got an initial "novelty" popularity spike because of that.

2. Neuro has done collabs with an extremely high quantity of other streamers, meaning that there is plenty of human interaction involved, instead of only being the AI by itself.

3. Vedal (Neuro's developer) is also an entertaining person himself (even if he tries to claim he is not)

4.Neuro has one of THE most dedicated online communities i have ever seen, with there being multiple small VTUBERS that got popular because of their interactions with Neuro and vedal.

The real question is. Are you able to see the difference between real AI and not?
You would be surprised about just how advanced the ones that are hidden are... This Nauro one is extremely simplistic if you ask me (that is my opinion, not yours ofc and we should respect eachothers opinions)

the funny thing is, it barely even matters by now, Neuro will continue being popular even if she were to completely stop advancing (that will not happen btw), while the rest will continue to be less popular regardless of how much advanced tech is present.
Indeed.
Neuro got in first and so she is the "novel" AI streamer. Ones in the future are kind of less impressive because "eh seen it before"
I've even seen several other AI vtubers that are using the same exact model as Neuro. I mean cmon, you can't even use a different model than the streamer your copying? There's lots of free/cheap models out there.

I saw that a girl avatar ai vtuber that was made by a man win female streamer at some event.

Just looked u up it's the Nero person mentioned above :lunar2019laughingpig:
Yeah that man is sometimes considered the "Most Popular 'Female' Streamer" on Twitch. It's actually kind of hilarious how that works.

Technically Ironmouse is more popular, but other than that Vedal is the 2nd-most-subscribed "female" on Twitch.

thats a suprisingly common misconception, Neuro and Vedal never won an award for best female streamer.

-they had a lot of watch hours specifically during the 2 subathons they did (starting december 19 2023 for the first and december 19 2024 for the second) but were never the most watched for the whole year.

-vedal DID win the "best tech VTUBER" award 2 years in a row so there is that.

As I said. Never heard about it, nor do anyone I know.
Besides.. define popular....

Overall given all the copyright infringements commited by AI, probably we might see in a few years an AI Vtuber that mimicks close to 1:1 PewDiePie, Markiplier, Mr Beast, Moistcr1tikal, etc. :lunar2020thinkingtiger:
Which if fully customizable it will take parasocial relantionships as a whole, into a more dystopian rabbit hole / abyss.

Good thing that none of these AI copies would ever be popular livestreamers, Neuro alredy took over the AI VTUBER space to such an extent no other can keep up anymore.
For the time being yes that's indeed the case, however the more dynamic and faster LLM's models (or what's marketed as AI) learns, the more competition there's going to be. The dude and its chatbot shouldn't rest on their laurels, because while the present is good, the future might be far different.

Still congrats to them in being pioneers! May they have good fortune in their business.

As i said, that does not matter at all.

Also yes, Neuro is clearly popular, that is really not debatable anymore.

I mean to be fair people your age don't really watch Twitch or streamers in general.

But she is objectively popular. In terms of subscribers (people paying monthly subscriptions) Neuro is the 7th-biggest streamer on the whole platform.

I guess that is a fair argument.
But then again.. Twitch is not really that much of a large SoMe segment.

But I assume you have some sources for that claim (not that I don´t trust you, merely for the sake of argument)

Do you really want me to tell you why wikipedia is not a valid source by itself?
Its userbased and anyone can alter it, factor in that it also contains loopholes for bias.

In my country, even children in 4th grade gets told that wikipedia is not a valid source...
It is perfectly fine, that the AI vTuber thingy is popular on Twitch.. as I said, it is not really a popular or known thing in mainstream however..

Nobody I know (this includes lots of young adult students) have ever talked about this. I am aware that they exist, but I honestly was under the impression that these was used as a jest and that people would not really watch them.

I could be wrong ofc. I simply do not know enough about it. But wikipedia as a source.. never...

Fun story (very old one)

A long time ago, I had this student whom I failed.. She told me that wikipedia was valid and I was being unfair (nobody, as in nobody would accept it) so I asked her to look up my name on it.. she did.. and there it was... wikipedia had me showcased as the Prince of Malawi......

She never used wikipedia as a source again.

you menaged to say all of that without adressing what i actually said. you could be a politician if you wanted.

yes wikipedia is not ALWAYS correct, but that everyone knows that there IS factual information present, especially when it is a matter where individual opinions are not relevant.
