i guess i never really thought about why. but like i said, im guessing just to relax people.
They play corporate pop music in stores and public places so that they ear worm their way into the zeitgeist.
I could get into the conspiracy theories i have regarding how music changes your brain and emotions etc.
Basically its all just consumerism and mind control but im too tired to get into it all.
Mainstream music isnt popular because its good. Its popular because it is shoehorned in by psychologists and marketing experts.
