How to tell the difference between twilight and dawn?
Both days are very dark. Without a clock and a compass.

.... The sun direction?
What if it's a cloudy day?:Mirro_KetsunoAna:
Different light. Also twilight can be darker than night when the sun is still in the sky, not bright enough to light the street but still bright enough to neutralize your head lamps.

Birds singing during the morning are different than the ones you hear towards dusk.

dawn of the dead is a better love story then twilight?
Wait. If it gets darker, twilight. If it gets brighter, dawn.

It's easy. I'm awake at Twilight and asleep at Dawn.
ok if we presume the most radical situation.

you are placed in artificial coma for an unknowm amount of time.
where you were kept i n a completely dark room
and transported to an unknown location on earth
and you just thid moment are taken out that dark room and revived.

so your biocycle is of zero help.

you also are given 0 time so no waiting if its gets darker or lighter or such no processes you need to check something this instant dawn or dusk.
you get to do one short measurement than back in your darkroom you go.
-
you can acces data in books and do tests in your room on taken sambles but not look outside anymore..

and we presume the sky is not visible to you.

well than the first thing you could do if any plantlife is present is measure their sapstreams and where the sugars are concentrated.

a tree switches metabolism at night and if it just made the switch for burning to creating sugas ir having done that all day should be measurable.

the same middle of ocean.. some spieces migrate at night to the surface and at day deeper down so toss out a net at a debt or see if you spot spieces like sunfish.

birds also make different sounds in morning and evening and fly in different patterns making a recording can help.

finally the temperature difference between the air, surfaces and water.. is a giveaway.
temperature itself says little sure its colder at dawn but we known not where or when we are so thats not usefull as a single datapoint.
however.. the difference between ground and air tempereraure (or water surface and air temperature) anywhere is very different at dawn or dusk.
+ when back in our box by checking the way water flows in a hole we can check what henisphere we are and by measuring gravity (its not equal on earth its slighly more at the equator than poles)
-
this should give us our longitude.

now take a very accurate compass
the magnetic north us is just a fraction ofset from trye north.. from this data we can get our altitude cordinate

that data crossed with the plant, fish, bird, temperature measurement samples shoulf give you not only if its dawn or dusk but also which season and with small eroor margin the day.
(the earth year is longer than 365 days + there is a 100000 year axel rotation cyclus that slighly shift the measured xth day of a season with the calender day..
we are currently offset by 5 days orso.. meaning geigrafic seasons start the 26th not the 21th.
since we not know if we have been kept in stasis 1 day or a million years we have no way to know the current offset.

sun rises in the east and sets in the west
Just wait a little. If it gets darker then it’s probably a sunset. If it slowly gets brighter then it’s sunrise.

You can tell the difference if you have a rooster.
