Strangers handling your food, eew
I'm aware some ppl don't have a choise about this matter but for those that just let strangers handle their food because they're lazy... let's debate about this.

and that's why people get sick about maybe 25% of the time. There NEEDS to be much stricter regulations.

I remember one time at Burger King, I observed the sandwich maker aggressively scratching his testicles before making sandwiches and, needless to say, that was enough for me to stay away from prepared food.:badluck:

last time I ate McDick$Nads I puked.. never gonna eat there again. I'd rather eat raw swamp water.
You can enact all the regulations you want, but it doesn't mean much when most of the chains operate as franchise-owned locations. Those are licensed by corporate, and as long as they comply with basic corporate policies it's almost impossible to yank the license.

State health inspections are annual, with followups in case a location fails and gets temporarily shut down until the flagged issues get fixed. You can file a complaint with the local county office, but given budget and staffing limitations they usually prioritize immediate critical issues like food poisoning, building damage, maybe rodents running amok through the dining area.

Right now, my boss' shop has a giant friggin' hole in the back area of the kitchen, where the grease trap plate would be -- but we're waiting for the manufacturer to ship the replacement so our contractor can install it and fix the floor damage. Been that way for almost three months, we've made due with a 1 inch thick sheet of plywood which is looking gross.

Customers can't see that mess, but if they did you can bet your Quarter Pounder with Cheese that the State health inspectors would be coming down on us like fleas on a dog. Thankfully, the owners got wind of everything and they're coming down on my boss even harder.

It shouldn't be like this. It really shouldn't. Self-enforcement isn't working, outsourcing through franchises isn't working, and more legislation won't work. There's too many people running shops that don't take pride in what they have, or what they do, while people who have the right mindset (even the "bartender gene") don't get promoted and often times pushed out.

Sorry for the rant, but sometimes I really wish there was a way to just turn off my sense of humanity and empathy. I genuinely want to stop caring, because it feels like the only way to succeed in an industry whose core principles involve humanity and empathy.

Anyhoo, night.
I don't want anyone handling my food

But if someone randomly farts close to it, but didn't touch it, that's fine

Where I live, there are laws and standards for serving food. It's not like over there where people can rub pork on a vegetarian muslims pizza and think it's a funny joke. Someone like that deserves a death sentence.
So you never go out or on vacation? I mean in every restaurant/hotel it's the same

Also in a restaurant it's not really your food unless you pay upfront

In what situation are strangers handling your food which you don't have a choice in? Genuine question.
I think they are meaning in restaurants.

thanks.

Guy mentions people not handling food because they are lazy (no idea what he's going on about) so this confused the snot out of me.

I'll not bother seeking further illumination because frankly have lost the will :-/
Don't order on off hours, idle hands is the devils playground as they say.
Don't google Indian street food.
This is why even the most expensive restaurant is WORTHLESS unless I can see the food being prepared and handled.
Cooks' jobs are already to handle strangers food.
Human feces in food is extremely unsafe and unsanitary. It can spread harmful bacteria and viruses that can make people very sick. Symptoms of eating feces include: vomiting, diarrhea, fever, dehydration, and liver toxicity.
Some examples of how human feces can contaminate food include:
Produce
In 2015, the FDA banned cilantro imports from Puebla, Mexico after finding feces and toilet paper in the fields. The FDA suspected the cilantro was the cause of a parasitic infection outbreak.
Chicken
A 2011 study found that 48% of chicken meat tested from grocery chains in 10 cities was positive for feces.
Drinking plenty of fluids and time can usually help reduce symptoms.
Scientists are also working on ways to convert human waste into food for astronauts and others. For example, Penn State University is developing a system that uses microbes to convert human waste into protein- and fat-laden foods.
