Also don't see anyone who want to live under american laws and rules.
Imagine paying the amount to even get a surgery.
I would expect a large housing demand in the southerner US, as people migrate there from colder areas.
Quebec might be upset it can't force other states to learn French, but as long as they can maintain the dual language system, not much would really change inside of Quebec itself.
Realistically Canada would probably have to merge a few of the provenience together to meet the threshold of a state.
As for the rest of the world, as long as it is a peaceful union, not much would change, except perhaps more pressure for the EU to be a country instead of an economic union.
Mexico might worry something similar would happen, since more than a few of it's citizens wouldn't mind becoming part of the US already. The main issue there is language, so it would be less likely to join.
I don't know what world these people live in where they think any country in the world has the size and strength that the US has. Heck the US could park a fleet between China and Taiwan (as probably already exists) and China couldn't touch it.
but yeah i can see quebec leave the union and form its own country
lol if you think us navy going to be stupid to park their navy between china and taiwan and been exposed to artillery, torpedo, missile, bomber, navy drone
You do realize the Taiwan straight is about 110 miles wide right? That puts it out of range for all artillery, torpedos, most missiles. And bombers? Drones? Easily shot down with current tech. And puts the US well within range to hit back with cruise missiles that they don't have the technology to intercept. China doesn't have the kind of navy or air force necessary to win that fight. The US Navy is not only the largest navy in the world by a huge margin, it's also the second largest air force in the world on it's own, with the USAF being the first largest.
Once you take a land route away from China, there's not a lot they can do.
