I will say these kinds of "leaks" are often engineered to try and drum up hype before an actual announcement. Valve does it too. It's why we're suddenly hearing rumors about Half Life after everyone had already given hope.
I miss when Nintendo actually cared (somewhat) about power while being innovative. SNES was more powerful in many ways then the Sega despite not having any 3D acceleration for the faster games like Sonic at the time. Look at the differences for Lion King on Sega vs SNES there's a certain level that takes note of it.
Now Nintendo just only cares about gimmicks disguised as innovation but they are still gimmicks when all is said and done and the new generation of Nintendo players don't or can't tell the differences. The NES/SNES and up to Gamecube didn't really have any 'forced' gimmicks.
There were Gimmicks like the SNES mouse or the NES light gun or heaven forbid the stupid robot but they were NOT in any way required to play or enjoy the machines. You could do fine without those toys which would 99 percent of the time sit there worthless.
How do you suppose they do these internal leaks is it a paid employee usually? And what's Half Life? I know it's a game name but don't really understood it didn't pay attention then and didn't now.
It sounds cool on paper but I feel like in actual practicality it won't be.
Also, what about the UI? Do you have a source for where the UI was leaked, because I'm not finding anything on what the UI looks like.
Take your pick but DO NOT click on Switch Force. However this is not a rumor anymore but a full on leak I think internal.
If you paid attention to Japan economic news they have been close to war for several years with a record military now ready to fight for their homeland. I think Nintendo is scared their people will have to fight as they will do so if they are called.
China has been 'buzzing' their borders and being very aggressive in doing so without actually violating anything............yet. I don't doubt Nintendo doesn't know about this at least at the higher up parts which is why they are in a wait and see mode for anything big to reveal. Plus I think they overspent on their theme parks too which now they have to recoup.
I bet most of the Switch success money went to that plus their legal team which is why they are so aggressive more then usual even for them. They see all this possible SHTF and like any company they don't want to be thrown under the bus. It's better to at least ride it as a passenger if nothing else.
Also what about interference from other magnetic things?
Nor do I really see how this relates to the Switch 2.
That too. These better be some damn good magnets if they want them to be reliable. The switch 1 joycons were already crappy as is (drift, simply not being comfortable to hold) so these ones are hopefully better.
I dream that Nintendo pulls a Sega, drops out of the hardware race and goes third party. Imagine buying Mario and Zelda games on Steam. Probably not going to happen, but a guy can dream.
When Japan goes to war with China you'll get our dream come true but I'd rather not to avoid innocent people getting hurt. Nintendo WILL have to answer when that happens and China has buzzed their border many times in rather aggressive ways that they'd be well within their rights to call out. Japan's military is at an all time record high more so then pre WWII conditions. Japans way of businesses are very different then ours.
A lot of their 'success' money was spent on the dumb theme parks. Theme parks are NOT cheap by any stretch of the imagination. You won't believe the levels of spending there is and most of it doesn't go to just to keep appearances either. \
I sure hope interference won't be an issue from other wifi devices.
It relates in a lot of ways. They don't want to put something big out and have TSHTF. The majority of consumers will be theirs followed by the US but they are more concerned with their own people right now and coupled with 2 years of Covid (which is still ongoing but not in the news cycle) and the Long Beach shut downs that happened delaying microprocessors and now the Panama Canal shut down.etc
If you notice they have been doing remastered lately because it takes little to no risk they don't have to do much 'new' planning other then making it compatible with modern hardware so essentially a 'risk free' environment. If they do a Mario Kart 9 in these hard economic times it could easily back fire even if it's well liked people have to pay rent/eat.etc.
Note this does not apply to gamers living in mom's basement. They can have annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnything.
Tears was going to be a much darker game if you've seen the initial trailer and they've even said so in the early interviews they wanted a 'Majoras Mask' esque vibe to the game but I think with all those scenarios I mentioned Nintendo decided to wait and see and got tired of the waiting so redid it then we got the second trailer which didn't look anything like the first.
