Let me guess. It'll look the same, but run on Unreal Engine 5, so it'll chug along at 25fps on a 4070.

Notch can be named now? Was he absolved of whatever mortal sin he committed against the High Holy Church of the Sustainable and Equitable Carbon Apocalypse? I thought he was forever cast into the darkness, his name to be chiseled off all the monuments, and never to be mentioned again.

I've used to play Minecraft before they started adding all kinds of extra unnecessary blocks and items.. Horses, diorite blocks, and those kinds of things didn't exist back then.
That's the Minecraft that I loved.

There's no way I'm gonna play some new innovation of Minecraft.
thats precisely why minecraft 2 is in development. the original creator, much like urself, is frustrated with the direction Microsoft has taken with the game

Interesting.. Then I might give it a try once it comes out.. If I still find myself drawn to that after all those years.

I'd like to see minecraft continue with the original vision. It's still a great game despite how hard Microsoft has fumbled the updates.

notch is a huge believer in making your own engines. I don't doubt Minecraft 2 will run on something like Python.
