a romance movie.. but also sad.
**they hate on a girl who is the only one who is not hatefull to the wandering stranger in their village
**first they call him the gipsy... and work him basicly as slave.. until they discover he is actually russian and the only survivor of a shipwreck.. ashamed they give him a hovel and his wage for all the work he done (and now pay him for his work)
**still they live on the outskirt of the city.. both shunned by most the village... only the doctor gives them some attention.. basicly only having eachother.
--she "the sea brought me many treasures but your the greatest
--he "I went on a long voyage to seek fortune, and I found it in you"
but in the end.. it ends sad.. when a fever hits the village.. the doctor instruct her to keep him warm... at all costs... but he HAS to also take care of all the others in the village..
but when he stumbles out of bed and falls back to talking russian.. which she not understands.. she fears he would hurt their child.. and runs with the child away into the night... only to meet the doctor.. hours later..
when the doctor and the woman return.. he is found on the floor.. complelty cold.. dying... onlyable to say with his dying breath.. to say.. he only wanted some water... and that he forgives her..
last scene shows the woman and the doctor at his grave..
**he lived and die to love and be loved by"
so in the end the man died alone...
and the woman.. who had the one person who was with her in her exile.. had to live with the fact that she out of fear killed him... and now as forever alone..
=====================
a bit like a story my dad used to tell of a princess..
a princess of a wealthy nation.. strong.. and very pretty... so many man came for her hand.. but she rejected them all.. she wanted the perfect prince... and demanded perfection...
as her screw and headstrong character became known... princes stopped coming.. friends left.. she ignored her duty to her nation.. and traveled far and wide looking for her prince everybody one by one giving up on her and leaving her... her beaty aging away.. her wealth spend..... and as she was headstrong.. she needed QUITE a lot of sacrifice by those still around her to resque her...
and in the end all left her all but 1 loyal servant...
until she pushed to far.. and he could only save her from the result of all her foolishness.. by giving his life
-only than now old, alone and poor.. her eyes were opened and she saw the prince she always was looking for was right alongside her.. but now he was dead.
the moral of the story.. : what you look for may closer than you think.. but your own presumptions may keep you from seeing it.. open your eyes before you loose it forever.
titanic is just another "adultery" movie.
-> most romantic movies are just woman performing adultery.
also.. if she had not be so stupid to say no to a space on that boat.. he would have been able to go on that door...
+ the door was big enough for the both of them to float on.
Adultry?
adultery yes.
she was engaged.. yes she had sex with a stranger she knew less than 6 hours, betraying her family and her word.
it's a trope in most romantic novels and movies..
woman essentially cheating.
giving the worrying point that to female fantasy romantism = cheating.
also she had a granddaughter.. so she did remarry.. yet here she was calling out this less than a day fling the love of her life.. essentially betraying the man she eventially got married to for 50+ years..
Hmmmm sounds like jealousy to me.
