this was them flipping out about the people crying about Vram.....plus they had to compete with AMD as their card at the same price point had that much Vram and really used it.....

Fun fact (or not so fun) but I have no idea how computers work. All I know is the motherboard is the spine, the cpu is the brain, the graphics card is the muscle, the HDD or SSD is the memory, and the RAM is short term memory.

kinda close.....think of it more like motherboard is the body.....GPU are the eyes.....CPU still the brain.....

basicly all gpu's cost way to much..

but if we had a fair lineup.. only corrected for inflation and not more
and all the same 6x ram over the last 5 generations..
whith actual sensible tdp values without the insane values of today bit with values as they always were per tear in a lineup.

than we would have

200 euro 4050 8gb vram 100w tdp
300 euro 4060 12gb vram 120w tdp
450 euro 4070 12gb vram, 150w tdp
650 euro 4080 18gb vram, 180w tdp
900 euro 4080ti 24gb vram, 250w tdp
1400 euro 5090, 72GB vram, 250w tdp

THAT would be a fair priced, and fair amount of vram lineup.
it's the high end thats hgere mostly screwed over in price, tdp and amount of vram.

a 4080 of 1600 euro... and only 16gb vram. feels wrong.
-> 16gb would be on the low end even if it would have costed halve that amount..
but 1600 euro is more than what would buy you a bloody titan card even corrected for inflation.
for that much money you expect high end specs and 16gb does not fit that.

basicly... while low end has only done inflation correction + 30%
high end now pays inflation correction +150%
aka more than double what we should!

and while low end gets 5-6 times more vram than they did with the 7xx series..
high end only gets 2-3 times more vram

screwing high end over even more.

oh I get when you pay 700 euro what USED to buy you a 980ti.. aka a highend card.. for a xx70.. aka a midend card.. your demands go up to...

but fact is you get screwed a lot less than highend does..

yeah no.....the cost ratio given the gains in hardware still do not justify the prices.......3080 GPU's only cost 80 dollars to make the core.....you really going to tell 700 was a good MSRP

the fact that it's going to become the standard for games only for all of those 16 gigs to be used to run games that look worse than Red Dead Redemption 2 and runs even worse

it costs $80 to make the 3090, 3080, 3070, 3060, and 3050 chips. theyre all the same chip!
the difference between a 3090 and a 3050 is the 3090 went through the manufacturing process flawlessly while the 3050 was in a slightly hotter part of the oven

when you pay for a GPU you are paying for both the hardware and the supporting software. efficient GPU drivers considerably increase performance without changing the hardware at all, how should this be priced with the GPU?
