Is cereal a soup?
This might be a bit controversial, but I couldn't help but ask.

No, because cereal (hopefully) doesn't have any vegetables in it

salad.
A few blades of grass doesn't mean anything and you know it

I've edited this twice and upon further thinking I still have no idea what you're actually meaning here
If you're trying to say salads are a soup, no because salads don't have liquids in them (hopefully)

let's just see what the other users has to say about that.
"cold crunchy grain soup"

Typically:

Soup is considered a warm/hot meal with softened veggies and meats eaten usually around lunch or dinner.

Cereal is considered more of a cold crunchy breakfast (call it "soup" if you will because of the chemistry) made with processed grains like oats &/or wheat (granola) that is often mixed with cow (or even goat) boobie juice, or some kind of imitation milk like oat milk, almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk, etc..

Caution: Men should NOT consume soy products, because it contains estrogen, which is a female hormone!!! hence the term "soyboy".

Try having cereal with drinkable yogurt or kefir, instead of milk, it's no longer a "soup" but rather a thick cold stew :steamhappy:

Is that a threat?

the google definition of a soup is
"a liquid dish, typically savoury and made by boiling meat, fish, or vegetables etc. in stock or water."

now we`re assuming we`re adding milk even though dry cereal is an option, so liquid dish is checked off , but stock or water does not count.

according to wikipedia, "Making stock involves simmering animal bones, meat, seafood, or vegetables in water or wine, often for an extended period. Mirepoix or other aromatics may be added for more flavor."

now i dont know about you , but if any of the things mentioned above were being simmered into my milk, i`d be very concerned. it also mentions that it has to be "in water or wine." milk is not one of those options and is not made by doing any of that

so , by googles definition, cereal is not a soup , but is infact, a grain product. because milk is still not required so even if i did classify it as soup before it doesnt really matter.

Salad dressing is thick so it's like a broth that you put on a salad so yes salad is a soup.

I have used water on dry cereal since i ran out of milk. And you know what dry cereal tastes better with water then milk.

Never heard of dehydrated soup? Where all you add is water. They can be eaten with out water and right from the pouch.

Wouldn't that just be considered bullion? Would you consider beef bullion cubes a soup?

Yes since it is beef stock. When it hits your stomach it turns in to broth so you can indeed eat dry soup.
