Revisiting my answer to my mother: "Yes, humans are simply evolved animals."

Human is idea. It doesn't really exist. In the same way a spoon does not exist. It's only a spoon because you know it's a spoon.

I can call it the super animal.
Most humans walk on two legs, and don't have wings.

But if you do not walk on two legs, you can still be a human.

The spoon exists, the word is just assigned to it so we know what we talk about lol

Human have a magic finger which can put anything down in sight.
Imagine that a bear vs gunship is super ridiculous.
But a wing also does not exist. It's only a wing because you think it's a wing. It may just as well be a paw that happens to be used as a wing. If you believe in "paws."

People just catagorize everything. Try not to think about it. It's pointless. Words serve humanity, so they can understand each other. If you have a word for something, it can exist. Or at least as a concept between people it can.

If two persons know what a spoon is, and they can both identify a spoon from a bunch of scrap. The spoon exists. At least to those two persons, who believe in the spoon. And a third person who also believes in the spoon, is still needed to judge if those two can actually identify the spoon.

Try not to think about these things. It just drives you nuts.

You can't call it's a wing if it can't make anything fly right.
We can even fly up to the space with a turbo rocket.
a human is not an animal, if you think otherwise you have big issues.
personally OP i am not a fan of animals so this is all i will say

There are only atoms and molecules. And space in between. Everything else is made-up.

It only drives YOU nuts because you are confused. Everything exists exactly as it is and what you call it doesn't matter one bit.

That is complex, anything that I can touch is simple.

I agree. I don't think it implies they have issues. But animal makes it not-human. Human means that it's not animal by definition.
