maybe in a few million years. fungus is notoriously slow to adapt, and it doesn't really have to, its quite successful, and one of the largest organisms on earth. doesn't really need to change.

fungus can only attack blood cold animal and even reptile never show been affected by fugus, so mostly it affect with primitive brain

and even insect and equivalent doesnt turn into your classical zombie, also they need special condition to infect insect and company, we tried infect ant with fugus in their nest, but it nort worked, because it seem zombie fugus nees good light, good humidity, it dislike too dark, too cold, to dry or to wet

most equivalent for mammal it is rabid disease, but it never turn human into zombie, seem it only affect carnivorous mammal, other just feel very bad before to to go coma and die
