I reached the point where I could break out of it by getting really angry and focusing all my rage on moving just one finger, or one toe. If I could get it to twitch I would then focus on two, then more, then more, then move the hand or foot, then more and more, then try to move the whole leg or arm.
If I could smash the bed with the entire limb then that would "wake me up" and I would break out of it.
I had one experience where I heard things walking around outside the door, and lights shining under the crack at the bottom of the door, it was a lot of them and they were small and their feet were pattering back and forth on the other side. Then the sound of glass straining like your pressing down on it with something sharp. Not to the point of shattering just that high pitched whine of pressure on the glass. That was one of the scary ones.
I had several false awakening dreams that seemed very real. I would get up, stagger into the bathroom, and then just get gob-smacked with this overwhelming sense of DOOM which I can't really describe with words and then I would actually wake up. These messed me up because then I would do the same thing - stagger into the bathroom, wash my face, try to figure out if I was actually awake this time...
I had some other really vivid dreams around that time where it was like I was actually there. Haven't had really clear, intense dreams like that for a long time.
One time was less lucid and more dream and I was a puddle.
Here's mine though
I think I experienced sleep paralysis for the first time yesterday morning. I was lying face down into my pillow with my right arm underneath my head, and my left arm next to my side. Suddenly, it felt like I was loosing blood circulation in my arms, and they felt numb. I tried to move my fingers but they just didn't move. Tried again, still didn't move. Slight panic began to set in as it felt like I was going to die or something, and then I took a deep breath and could move. Mind you this entire time I am face down, eyes closed. I was also awake, and it was like 9:00 AM.
The weird thing about the shadows I saw was that both of them were running at a full sprint. The first one happened when I was about 18, and it ran right through me.
The second time was only about 4 years ago, about 19 years after the first. I was walking down a dark country road with no lights and bushes on both sides of the road. I was using the torch on my phone to see, and a shadow ran across the road about 6 feet infront of me. It made no sound as it ran, or as it exited the bushes. It looked like a grown man of about 6 feet tall, like it was running for its life. Strangely, it was only about 3 miles away from where i saw the first one.
