Why are Asian games better than their Western counterparts?
What happened to Ubisoft in the last 12 years?

What are good Asian strategy games? Somehow i don´t see any competition for the Western ones.

I can't think of any western games that come close.

Rance.
Well, first of all, Japanese games dominate the "Asian" category with probably over 99% of total output produced, so that's not really an accurate statement to make. Second, you probably have to compare genres rather than making a broad generalization. Third, a lot of Western AAA titles use labor from around the world if you read the credits, so there is often Asian talent involved.
Western games are made for the modern audience while Eastern games are made for gooners.

Gooners spends money.
Modern audience don't.

Thanks for the replies, but no. Not really.

Like if it´s about these turn based kind of games, i think some western roleplay games have combat like this. Or Jagged Alliance, or XCOM would be strategy games likes this.

Many of the Asian Games in the Genre look like spin offs of Western titles. Like Age of Empires if it´s about RTS, or like Total War if it´s about battles and stuff, if it´s about 4x.

Else it´s probably also a bit about the art style - or like said the Genre to prefer these games over others.

Japan has been producing games a lot longer than China and Taiwan. The catalog is massive and extends well beyond Steam. You're not even seeing all the Japanese games that never make it to Western audiences and have never made it here.
Are they?

My favourite game right now is quite western and indie.

Back in the days of Rayman, maybe, but as far as I remember they've always had terrible upper management and corporate

Ubisoft used to be good. Assassin's Creed 2, Far Cry 3, Rainbow Six Vegas and Splinter Cell.
